An Analytical Comparison of Rough Set Theory-based Grid Resource Matching Algorithms

Abstract— Grid environment is an infrastructure in which many heterogeneous resources participate in solving large scale and high computational problems on the internet. Heterogeneity and large number of resources makes resource matching an important issue in the field of grid networks. Recently, rough set theory has been widely considered for efficient resource matching in the literature. In this paper, we analyze and compare three state-of-the-art rough set-based resource matching methods: ROSSE, DRSRD, and CRSRD. These methods are evaluated from the aspects of accuracy and time complexity. The evaluations show ROSSE is fast and has much better performance than DRSRD and CRSRD.

A Comparison of Support Vector Machine and Multi-Level Support Vector Machine on Intrusion Detection

Abstract— Accessibility and openness of the Internet cause increase information security risk. Information security means protecting information from unallowed access, use, disruption, change and etc. This paper is about Intrusion Detection. The main goal of IDS (Intrusion Detection System) is to protect the system by analyzing users behaviors and habits when they are working with system, detect behaviors that don’t match with previously learned normal behaviors patterns and raise a warning. Support Vector Machine (SVM) is a classification method that used for IDS in many researches. We compare performance of SVM and Multi-Level Support Vector Machine (MLSVM) as a new edition of SVM on a challenging intrusion detection data set based on KDD’99 with name NSL-KDD. Our experiments indicate that MLSVM is more suitable for this data set rather than SVM.

A New Approach For Flexible Matching of Grid Resources

Abstract— Grid environment is an infrastructure in which many heterogeneous resources participate in solving large scale and high computational problems on the internet. Heterogeneity and large number of resources makes resource matching an important issue in the field of grid networks. This paper presents a new approach for grid resource matching. This paper proposes an approach that utilizes ontology to present the semantic relations of the environment and discover the resources that are most relevant to the request. Our method can provide approximate matches if no exact match exists for the given request. The evaluation results show that our method is more effective in resource matching compared with other mechanisms such as UDDI and OWL-S.

Study of Effectiveness of Using ERP Systems in Cost Optimization of Just-In-Time Manufacturing Cases

Abstract— The software selection of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is important phase in decision making and product cost optimization. The initial cost of any AIS Expert System is large and takes place in capital cost of software resources. The expert systems are studying both, quantity and quality. Application of ERP as expert systems in AIS to handle the manufacturing and cost optimization using information technology concepts faces the cost of ERP in many small business areas. The interesting area of study that involved in this paper is that, a plant that manufacture by order – in other words, the pants or manufacturers those has no standard product output and all or the most of its outputs are flexible deepening on the costumer order-. Such that process is so called “Just-In-Time” order. This paper aims to study the effectiveness of use the ERP software in Just-In-Time Manufacturing cases in Jordan.
